The Champion Conval Boys Soccer team is always in need of ball kids for their home games. It is a fun and easy way to earn up to 2 hours of community service per game. The Conval Girls Soccer team is looking for Ball Kids to help out for home games. No soccer experience necessary, just be able to chase down a ball and stand on the sidelines of the game. Attention all SMS
students, SMS Garden Club will be starting on Tuesday, March 31st. This club
will run on certain Tuesdays through April and May, and will be open to anyone
in 5th through 8th grade. We will be working on beautifying the gardens in the
front of SMS as well as other outdoor projects around the school. You can earn
community service hours for participation in this club. If interested,
pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Lyons or in the front office.
Welcome to South Meadow School! We are very excited about our new school year! We will be studying a variety of subjects and topics throughout the school year. You will learn about ecology and ecosystems, the place of value system and fractions, and how our country was formed, to name a few. With the ChromeBooks that will now be available to all fifth grade students, you will have the opportunity to explore computer technology and learn a variety of ways to use it in your projects and presentations. Of course, we will also read some great books and do some excellent writing!
There are a few supplies that you will need for your fifth grade year. They are:

1 sturdy pocket folder - plastic or laminated for health
2" binder (for all-grade organization) Trapper Keeper or similar type notebook works the best!

In the classroom, we have a supply of crayons, markers, paper and glue sticks, so you won't need to purchase any of those items. It would be most helpful if you had the above mentioned supplies when you come to school on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Should any of these items create a financial burden for your family, please don't fret, just let your classroom teacher know! Please make sure you have a snack and a lunch or lunch money to put on your account for the first day. Also, please be prepared to go outside each day, so bring or wear sneakers to school.

Welcome to grade 8 and the Sage Team. We are very excited to be working with you all during the upcoming school year. We would like to remind you that eighth graders are required to do 20 hours of community service. This year we are hoping to complete most service learning hours as a team and/or within our advisories. Students are welcome to complete as many hours as possible over the summer and throughout the school year. All service learning hours and paperwork will be due on or before May 22, 2020. Have you had time for Community Service this summer? You will need 10 hours of service in 6th grade. The forms are online on the SMS web site. You can carry over five extra hours from fifth grade. You may return completed summer forms to your advisor on the first day of school. Remember, 7.5 additional hours of community service can be carried over to 7th grade at the end of the year!
