Outside Classrooms Return Mrs. Lyons and her 8th grade science class take advantage of the nice weather and return to the outdoor learning.
Circle of Props 2022In order to foster positive connections in school, the SMS 8th grade participated in a Circle of Props activity, students wrote compliments for each other in a basket, then students gathered in a large circle where they were all read aloud.
Spike Robotic Competition Spike robotic students are getting ready for a competition of their bugs that they created. They competed to see which bug will go the furthest and which will go the straightest.

Drama Club Returns to SMS The SMS Drama Club finally returns to the stage in an original performance of "A Twisted Shakespeare Double Feature."
Spring Festival Friday 2022 The Student Culture Committee Spring Festival Friday was another success! Students signed up for 3 different activities in the afternoon such as escape room, soccer, movies, cooking, art, nail painting, puzzles, and games to name just a few of the sessions available.
The idea behind this newsletter is to keep 5th grade parents informed of what students are learning, events coming up, and reminders of important assignments and other miscellaneous happenings. The newsletter is created, designed, and written completely by the students. Editing is also done by the students with the help of Mrs. Hayes and our fantastic Technology Integrator, Theresa Berna.
Mrs. Berna has worked with students over the last few weeks to teach them the skills needed to put together this amazing newsletter. Students have worked very hard and we are so impressed with their creativity, cooperation, and dedication!
The SMS Student Council did a fantastic job for Teacher Appreciation week 2022. They came up with the theme of star wars and have had many out of this world treats for the SMS Staff. Thanks to the VERY generous contributions of the SMS Families, each day gift cards have been raffled out to the staff. It has been an amazing week! Thank you to the entire SMS family, you are all AMAZING!
Mr. Morneault ran a 3x3 basketball tournament to celebrate March Madness. All SMS students were invited to play. 17 teams started the competition. They narrowed the teams down to the Elite 8, then Final 4, and finally the Championship. All students in the competition were caring, cooperative, and respectful and showed the utmost sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament.
