7th Grade SMS Students explore the Conservation of Matter through homemade lava lamps in science class.

8th Grade students in Mrs. Lyons Science classes are working in partnership with the NH Fish and Game through “Trout in the Classroom Program”. Mrs. Lyons and her students have received cold water trout eggs and supplies in December to start the project.
Before the Holiday break, 8th grade students came back to 7th grade for a ceremony to celebrate a mirror installation. Last year, 7th grade students worked together to demonstrate school-wide expectations and raise funds for a new bathroom mirror.
SMS students in Mrs. Norby’s Science class are working on identifying whether there is a physical or chemical change present based on a mixtures reaction.
The Staff and students at SMS showed their holiday spirit by wearing their favorite Holiday Sweater – also known as “Ugly” Sweater Day (though of course not all sweaters were ugly!)
The SMS 5th Grade celebrated the Holidays by having a Holiday Door Decoration Contest. Though all doors were amazing, Mrs. Iwanowicz’s class took first place.
These students are programming their SPIKE robots to go straight for three feet and go in a square. Next up will be a bug. Some of the robotic team members are helping with the younger students.
The South Meadow Students who are in 3D class have created snowflakes and other seasonal items.
The SMS Winter Concert will be held in the Gym on Thursday, December 15th starting at 6:30pm.
