Presentation of the “Upstanders” – The First of a Trio

The “Upstanders” is recommended for 13+ and we are encouraging families to watch the film on Wednesday, October 21
between 6 pm and 8 pm together. Please register in advance. (See link above)
According to the “Upstanders” literature, “An Upstander is someone who takes action when they witness bullying. Even one
person’s support can make a big difference for someone who is being bullied. When youth who are bullied are defended and
supported by their peers, they are less anxious and depressed than those who are not.” We hope that all of our SMS Pumas will be
upstanders for their classmates.
That day will also be known as “Stand Up With Courage” day. We will be celebrating that by wearing something orange on that
day, whether in-school or remote.
