The South Meadow School Farwell Ceremony for the class of 2025 was held at the ConVal High School Athletic Field this year. The ceremony started with a welcome speech and dance (tradition at all SMS Assemblies) from retiring Principal O'Bryant, followed with the awards presentation of President's Education, American Legion, SMS Faculty, Puma Pride, Citizenship and Athletes of the Year. Finally the 8th grade students were called up to the podium to receive their official certificates. Good luck to all 8th grade students - SMS will miss you all! Also good luck to Mrs. O'Bryant - we wish you all the best in your retirement.
During Spirit Week at SMS in person students were able to compete against other pods in their grade level. Thanks to Mr. Sil and the student council for organizing this event. A majority of the games were relay races which included a soccer ball, hula hoop, birdy balance, and egg drop.
During Spirit Week, SMS was able to hold their first Pep Rally in over a year! All in person staff and students were able to gather together outside to celebrate SMS. Mr. Silegy and Mrs. O'Bryant got the school energized with cheers and dances. This Pep Rally was even more special as this was Mrs. O'Bryant's last one at SMS as she is retiring. In honor of this, the students made cards and presented to her. The student council also presented her with flowers and balloons. All will miss her dearly.
Green pod students and teachers for all grades created Tie Dye shirts in Ms. McLean's Art class to represent their pod in the upcoming Spirit Week Games.
June 7 - June 11 SMS will Celebrate Spirit Week!
This will be a fun celebration bringing our students together for the first time this year!
It will include grade level competitions by pod and dress up days.

With the return of nice weather, the SMS Students are now able to go outside to enjoy the fresh air and have lunch.
Using safety protocols, South Meadow School was finally able to offer Baseball, Softball and Cross Country Club this spring. Though it was a shortened season, all teams were were amazing!
