Dear Fifth Grade Student,
Welcome to South Meadow School! We are very excited about our new school year! We will be studying a variety of subjects and topics throughout the school year. You will learn about ecology and ecosystems, the place of value system and fractions, and how our country was formed, to name a few. With the ChromeBooks that will now be available to all fifth grade students, you will have the opportunity to explore computer technology and learn a variety of ways to use it in your projects and presentations. Of course, we will also read some great books and do some excellent writing!
There are a few supplies that you will need for your fifth grade year. They are:
In the classroom, we have a supply of crayons, markers, paper and glue sticks, so you won't need to purchase any of those items. It would be most helpful if you had the above mentioned supplies when you come to school on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Should any of these items create a financial burden for your family, please don't fret, just let your classroom teacher know! Please make sure you have a snack and a lunch or lunch money to put on your account for the first day. Also, please be prepared to go outside each day, so bring or wear sneakers to school.
